چکیده
The phytochemical screening, and in vitro antifungal activity of the inflorescence, leaf, stem rhizome crude extracts Costus lucanusianus J. Braun & K. Schum at concentrations 12.5-100 µg/mL were determined against 4 fungal strains; Penicillium notatum, Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger Rhizopus stolonifer by Agar well diffusion method. Secondary metabolites accountable for observed are saponin, tannin, flavonoid, phlobatannins, reducing sugar, anthraquinones, phenol, alkaloid, resin, glycoside terpenoids. Reducing sugar was present all extracts. solvent displayed highest amongst organs aqueous no concentrations. In this study, K.Schum aerial is reported. shown plant justifies use treatment urinary tract infection venereal diseases ethnomedicine, its usefulness preservation food crops.
